Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a company that produces exceptional spaces for their clients. From refurbishing high-end hotels to converting something old into something amazing, our client is the main contractor who specialise in unique and interesting projects. With ambitious plans for growth for 2024, they are seeking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.


Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager and Commercial Director and working with an experienced team of SQS\'s, you will be heavily involved in the commercial management of complex and unique building projects across Scotland. Based in a lovely office in Edinburgh, you will work with the operational team on the delivery of your project, which typically ranges from £10million to £50million. You will be exposed to all elements of your project from the preconstruction phase through to handover and final accounts, and you will get the opportunity to really exercise your full quantity surveying skill set in your role. All of our clients\' projects are unique, so they will present complex and challenging commercial elements for you to handle, so you must be a competent and confident Quantity Surveyor.


What you\'ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate is from a main contracting or developer background with significant experience in the delivery of commercially complex projects. You must be degree qualified in quantity surveying, and you will have strong and well-developed technical construction knowledge. You enjoy the challenge that complex refurbishment projects throw up and relish the fact that each day will present something unexpected and challenging! You are a competent Quantity Surveyor with a well-developed understanding of how to deliver a profitable project to your employer while developing positive relationships with your supply chain and other stakeholders (clients, consultants etc).
