Job Details

The Supportive Housing Officer role is a vital one, focused on assisting individuals or families in accessing and maintaining suitable housing. Here's what you can expect from this rewarding position:

  • Health and Safety Checks:
    • Conduct regular inspections to maintain safety standards.
    • Promptly address any safety concerns that arise.
  • Housing Inspections:
    • Thoroughly assess living conditions and identify areas for improvement.
  • House Meetings:
    • Foster community by facilitating house meetings where residents can connect and discuss matters.
  • Fire Drills and Risk Assessments:
    • Organise monthly fire drills to ensure preparedness.
    • Update housing and fire risk assessments as needed.
  • Home Choice Applications:
    • Assist clients in finding suitable accommodation that meets their needs.
  • Benefit Applications:
    • Support clients through the housing benefits process, ensuring they receive the assistance they're entitled to.
  • Anti-Social Behavior Management:
    • Collaborate with clients to address any issues related to anti-social behaviour.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • While housing training is preferred, it's not essential.
  • Experience in conflict management is beneficial.
  • Strong IT skills are necessary for documentation purposes.

Location and Hours:

  • The office is located in Fishponds, with properties mainly in East Bristol.
  • A driving licence is essential due to travel requirements.
  • The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00.
  • The annual salary for this impactful role is £24,000
