Your new consultancy is a Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy who have a medium-sized team and are further looking to grow their team due to increased demand for their services. Your new consultancy pride themselves on proactively assisting clients to achieve their goals, while additionally achieving a high level of client satisfaction, and having a proven track record in responding to client needs and requirements.
Your new Consultancy is very active within the following areas: Residential projects (Commercial housing. Social housing, care homes). Renewable energy projects, especially Wind Farms, while additionally your new consultancy are targeting an expansion in their rail sector presence.
Your new role
Your new role as Principal Civil Engineer will require candidates to oversee technical delivery of a portfolio of projects allocated to them. Doing so, the candidate will need to ensure the quality and accuracy of the engineering is delivered to the highest possible standards. The Principal Civil Engineer will be responsible for the quality management of designs and will also be responsible for the commercial performance of the projects.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role successful candidate will need around eight years of post-graduate experience, and be familiar in taking responsibility for the design of projects. Chartership is not required for experienced candidates. The role of Principal Civil Engineer will require candidates to be supportive of staff working with their design team and be confident to engage with the consultancies' valued and established client base.
The candidate will also be required to undertake technical design work and report on themselves, additionally having good written and verbal communication is also vital within this senior position. With the role having large technical responsibilities, candidates will be required to be highly competent in the design of drainage, highways and civil infrastructure and will be used to various adoption procedures for highway authorities and water utilities. Having the knowledge of the following software is also very desirable,
- Mirco Drainage
- AutoCAD
- Civil 3D
- Microsoft Office Software.
