HAYS are delighted to be working in partnership with the council to present an exciting new permanent opportunity for a Principal Estates Surveyor.


Your new role
As a Principal Estates Surveyor, you will be an integral part of a team managing a diverse property portfolio which includes both operational and commercial properties with a range of occupiers including both corporate tenants and local traders. You'll lead a small team, whilst contributing to property management and professional activities, including landlord & tenant negotiations.
You will also:

• Undertake line management duties for a graduate surveyor, including appraisals, performance, and personal development training.
• Provide appropriate leadership support to a graduate surveyor to enable them to work towards achieving membership of RICS.
• Carry out day-to-day commercial property management duties.
• Become a strategic partner, playing a lead role in the development of strategies to meet service and corporate priorities.

What you'll need to succeed
If you have a passion for property, an eye for detail and a drive and motivation to improve the environment, then this could be a fantastic next step for you - there is no requirement to have worked for a local authority previously or within the public sector before. You will need to hold a degree or equivalent qualification within a property related area, and ideally you will be a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. An ability to lead, develop and motivate a team to deliver excellent levels of customer service will be important.
