Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer

You'll beworking for a successful and well stablished consultancy based in Edinburgh,who are looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join theirBuilding Services team. This consultancy works on a variety of projects acrossScotland's Central Belt as well as UK wide, operating across almost everysector, including commercial, residential, Industrial, education and more.

Your new role

• You will be starting as an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, joining an already well-established team.
• You will be given exposure to a number of New build and refurbishment projects on commercial, residential and emergency services buildings across Glasgow and Edinburgh.
• You will have the opportunity to lead more junior engineers, assisting their development and ensuring the quality of their work.
• You will be supported by a team of creative and experienced engineers.
• Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems .
• Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
• Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Amtech, CAD, Revit, etc.
• Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
• Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
• Developing report and technical note writing.
• Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
• Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Electrical design engineering on Building Services projects.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical systems and building codes.
• Excellent communication and business development skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
