Interior Architect or Senior Architectural Designer - Vectorworks (past or present) - 100% Remote

White Space Recruitment is delighted to be working exclusively for a niche client who specialise in the complete design and delivery of immersive and experiential permanent visitor attraction / exhibition spaces for the Middle East. We are urgently seeking an experienced Interior Architect or Senior Architectural Designer with past or present Vectorworks skills, to work 100% remotely from within the UK, initially through to September with potential extensions.

These architectural design projects often incorporate large permanent structural installations and/or sets often incorporating huge amounts of technology and augmented reality that is typically found within visitor attractions, giant shopping centres, exhibition spaces, modern museums, and many other public spaces. Think Vegas, Harry Potter World, or the Imperial War Museum, The Science Museum etc. - Lots of technology driven immersive and interactive experiences involving structures, sets, props, and a whole lot more.

The successful Interior Architect or Senior Architectural Designer will be tasked with sketching, prescribing, finding solutions to various challenges and transitioning concepts into more technical schematic working drawings (approx. RIBA stage 3) for several large-scale interiors focused schemes incorporating complex interventions, with the goal of winning the next technical and construction phases.

Interior Architects or Senior Architectural Designers applying must consider themselves to be 'hands-on with the tools' (Vectorworks ideally, but AutoCAD or similar might be acceptable), an allrounder who is able to take ownership and lead the transition of creative design concepts through the more technical design phases (RIBA 2-4), often requiring complex architectural, M&E, structural, and interior fitout components within their creation.

Ideally Interior Architects or Senior Architectural Designers should have some proven experience and understanding of designing interiors for medium or large public spaces involving dramatic interventions (e.g. a giant integrated sculpture, cantilevered staircase, artificial waterfall etc.) often seen within retail, airports, stations, mixed-use developments, visitor attractions, exhibition spaces, museum projects or similar.

Interior Architects or Senior Architectural Designers applying need to be immediately available or be able to start within the next 1-2 weeks to be considered.

This position is 100% remote working from within the UK, up to 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, and with an office in EC2 for hotdesking should you wish to meet team members.
