Ourclient are a professional practice of Mechanical and Electrical and PublicHealth (MEP) building services engineers operating throughout the UK. Thepractice remains wholly owned by the Directors and has grown organically to itspresent strength. In addition to the traditional core MEP engineering servicesdisciplines, the company embodies in-house expertise in low-carbon andlow-energy design, renewable-energy generation and application, BREEAM,sustainability and facilities management. Key sectors in which they areinvolved in include Commercial, Research Labratories, Hotel & Leisure, and Retail. They are seeking a Mechanical Building Services Design engineer to join their Glasgow office. This can range from Intermediate/Senior level as they are flexible as long as you have had experience working through the RIBA stages. This a great opportunity to join a highly respectedconsultancy with an open and supportive culture, there is a real relaxedatmosphere and personal element to the office and there are some greatopportunities for progression.
Your new role
- Develop specifications, design drawings, calculations and any other contract documents through the RIBA work stages.
- Contribute to successful project completion by providing technical services in accordance with project time and quality.
- Input to pre-qualification and selection of contractors, respond to tender queries, comment and review tender returns.
- Attend site surveys and client concurrence meetings
- Ensure compliance with all Statutory and Regulatory Authorities and obtain approvals as necessary
What you'll need to succeed
- 2 years post graduate work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business
- Ideally have a full UK driving licence, to enable travel to sites as and when required, either as part of wider design team, or individually
- Experienced in the use of AutoCAD, Revit is ideal
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with IES software is preferred
- Use knowledge of mechanical systems to carry out mechanical building services design
