Our client, who are a leading and award winning UK architecture studio are looking for a talented BD Manager to join them.  If you are well connected, with that "little black book" of key people in the property industry then this could be the role for you.

Their team of nearly 100 architects and designers have real passion for what they do, creating beautiful buildings, and operate cohesively throughout their disciplines. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced BD Manager to create and garner new business opportunities for the company.  With the primary objective being to support the studio in winning new and strategic projects and to create outstanding pitching documentation and submissions.  You will have the opportunity to work proactively and collaboratively, especially at senior level with the wider New Business team that includes the Directors.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Managing all enquiries that come into the studio, filtering and presenting chosen ones to the senior management team
  • Producing agendas and presenting at new business and management meetings
  • Producing bids, pitches, EOIs, PQQs and client presentations
  • Briefing the senior team ahead of networking events e.g. preparing guestlists, bios, etc.
  • Working with the Communications Manager to check alignment between the Communication and New Business strategies
  • Maintaining and updating in-house databases, documents and project information
  • Undertaking market research and linking this to new opportunities
  • Interface with design and operational teams to produce bids, EOIs and support on design competitions
  • Representing the practice at client and industry events

Skills and experience

  • Architectural industry experience and up to date contacts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, confident and self driven, delivering on projects independently and to tight timeframes
  • Ability to independently implement strategic new business initiatives
  • Ability to work collaboratively across design teams, senior management and studio/operations teams
  • Proficiency in InDesign and knowledge of Photoshop
  • Passion for design and the built environment
